Elrae’s Manufacturing System Company Leverages Microsoft Web Technology to Strengthen
Customer Relationships
"Manufacturing system solution provider Made2Manage Systems, Inc. was recently featured in a presentation by Microsoft Chief Software Architect Bill Gates at the Comdex computer show in Las Vegas." The discussion was based on Made2Manage’s use of Microsoft’s new .NET technology for their new web offering, M2MVIP. Elrae has been investigating the new web offering and has tentative plans to offer the enhanced customer service features to its customers in 2001.
"M2MVIP enables manufactures to leverage the Web to develop close, profitable relationships with their customers and distributors. M2MVIP is hosted by Made2Manage and is integrated with the Made2Manage back-office system. The Web service provides manufacturers with unique features in collaboration, commerce and customer care including the ability for their customers to have limited Web-based access to the manufacturer’s back office data." "For instance, the Customer Care portion of M2MVIP allows customers to check account and order status and to perform invoice inquiries etc. The Commerce portion of the M2MVIP gives customers the ability to request quotations, place orders, view and post business documents such as RFQ’s, PO’s and service agreements. It allows for the addition of ‘discussion threads’ (like bulletin board postings) for questions about products. The Collaboration segment of the product features CAD visualization tools, secure project binders and document publishing, interactive on line conferencing, project discussion forums, shared task tracking, and automated project change notification."
Elrae customers would gain access to this real time information via a hyperlink on Elrae’s web site at www.elrae.com. From there, users access the Made2Manage hosted sight with their secure username and password. From there, the user-needed information is just a few points and clicks away. Elrae will be making a decision regarding the new M2MVIP and the features it would like to contract for in the next couple of months.
